Thank you for contacting Hyundai Customer Care in regards to satellite navigation system in your Hyundai VEHICLE.

The latest map version that is available for the satellite navigation system is Australia Q3.13. If you have found that the current map version is not providing details of existing roads in your area, we would expect this information will become available in the next release being Australia Q3.14. We anticipate that this will be released around June of 2015. Map versions for our Satellite Navigation systems do not follow the same release dates as any portable unit. Once we have developed a new map version this requires testing to ensure its compatibility and stability with our units.  Because of this extensive testing our map upgrade releases are not as frequent in comparison to a portable unit.

The Satellite Navigation guidance voice can be altered by using the volume controls on your steering wheel whilst receiving a command. The Satellite Navigation unit needs be talking and providing a command to be able to alter the volume. In reference to speed alerts unfortunately these are set to a specific volume from factory and are unable to be altered.

With regards to the satellite navigation system in your Hyundai VEHICLE as this is a combined function of the audio unit, this does need to be on for the GPS to work. If you don’t wish to have sound coming from the radio and want to just have the commands provided by the satellite navigation system, you can change the radio volume independently. You just need to use the controls on the steering wheel to alter the volume of the radio and ensure that the navigation system is not providing a command at the time.
